About these terms

These terms cover gifts made to Wellspring through this website and your use of the site itself. By making a gift you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.

Your gift

• A gift is a donation, not a purchase. Nothing is sold in return.
• You choose the amount and whether it is one-time or monthly before you confirm.
• If you pick an appeal or a program, we spend your gift there. If that appeal is already fully funded when your gift arrives, we move it to the nearest program of the same kind and tell you.
• Gifts to the general fund go wherever the need is greatest.

Monthly gifts

A monthly gift is taken on the same day each month until you stop it. You can change the amount, pause or cancel at any time by writing to hello@wellspring.foundation. There is no minimum term and no fee for stopping.

Receipts and tax

Every gift gets a receipt by email, usually within minutes. Monthly donors also get one summary each January. Whether your gift is tax-deductible depends on where you pay tax; the receipt shows our registered charity details so you or your adviser can check.

Refunds

• Made a mistake, such as the wrong amount or a gift entered twice? Tell us within 30 days and we will refund it in full.
• A monthly gift taken after you asked us to cancel is always refunded.
• After 30 days gifts have usually been spent in the field and cannot be returned.

If something went wrong with your gift, write to us first. We would rather fix it the same day than have you worry.

Processing fees

Our payment provider keeps a small fee from each gift. If you tick "cover the fee" the extra goes to that cost, so the full amount you intended reaches the field.

What we promise

We publish audited accounts every spring, show what share of each dollar reaches the field, and report on every appeal we open, whether it met its goal or not.

Using this site

The words, photos and figures on this site belong to Wellspring or are used with permission. You may share pages and quote from them with a link back. Please do not copy stories or photos of people into other fundraising without asking.

Events and volunteering

Places at events and on volunteer days are confirmed by email. Treks and field visits have their own safety terms, which we send before you commit.

Liability

We run the site with care but cannot promise it is free of errors or always available. Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you.
